If you’re Goth and you don’t know it…clap your hands??

Ah, the good old days…. music was everywhere, MTv actually played videos, and the battlecry of insomniac comedy lovers was “I want my Al tv!”

And yet here I am, a depressed and lonely teenager – yay. Songs that spoke to me made me cry – “does anyone love anybody?”,  “wouldn’t it be good if we could wish ourselves away?”, “there must be a million other places I could be – why me?”

And then I found a place for “underground’ (?) music, and found one of the saddest songs I have ever heard, and have never been able to find since.

No, I didn’t know about dressing in black, and yes, I saw the singers with their spiky hair, but that wasn’t me.

I also swear one of the first modern Goth bands is The Beatles. Listen to “Elanor Rigby” and “While my guitar gently weeps”. Go, listen to them now, I’ll still be here when you get back.
